Notebook Activities

The following is a list of the activities that were done in class, that were not collected.  Points will be given when Notebooks are checked at the end of the semester.   

1-Students filled in the multi-flow map of the Effects of the Industrial Revolution on the back students filled in the T-Chart of positivies and negatives of the Industrial Revolution by using detail the listed in the multi-flow map.

2- Students filled in the multi-flow map of the causes of the "Age of Imperialism" on the back of the British Empire map, and answered the question about what the saying, "the sun never sets on the British Empire" meant. (started this activity on 1/5/11 and finshed it on 1/6/11) 

3- Students copied down notes over the "Scramble for Africa" powerpoint on their own paper. (Started 1/10/11 and Finished on 1/11/11)

4- Video Details "Blood Diamonds":  List 25 details on your own paper about this issue and how it relates back to the days of imperialism in Africa.  We only watched the first 25 minutes of the video. You can watch the video at the site listed below:

 5- Students copied down notes over the powerpoint "British Rule of India" on their own paper. (1/19/11)

6- Students created 3 Thinking Maps over "Imperialism in China & Japan" on their own paper. (1/24/11)

7- Multi-Flow Map "Causes of WW I" and Flow Map of the "Spark of WW I":  Students copied the main causes of  World War One onto a multi-flow map and on the back put the spark of WW I in a Flow map. 

8- New Weapons of WW I Powerpoint:  Students copied down notes on their own paper.

9- The Great War powerpoint:  Students copied down notes on their own paper.

11- Video Details: The Armenian Genocide- write down 10 details on your own paper.   For make up purposes you can read the following article, or watch the first 15 minutes of the following video.

13- Notes: The Sinking of the Lusitania  Copy down the following details on your own paper

14- Multi-Flow Map "The U.S. Enters WW I": students created a multi-flow map of the reasons why the U.S. entered World War I.  

15- Notes: World War I Ends Copy down the following details on your own paper

16- Notes: The Treaty of Versailles   Students copied down the following details on their own paper.

18- Multi Flow Map: "Causes of the Russian Revolution"  Students copied the multi-flow map on the white board in class to their own paper.  

19- Notes: The Russian Revolution   Students copied down details from the following powerpoint: 

20- Notes: Russia's Civil War   Students copied down details from the following powerpoint: 

21- Notes: Totalitarianism  

22- Video: Joseph Stalin   Students answered the attached question sheet as they watched. 

25- Notes: Rise of Dictatorships   Students filled in the notesheet attached below using the info covered in the attached powerpoint below.

26- Video Notes: World War II Begins   Students filled in the outline as we watched a series of video segments describing the outbreak of World War II. (The Answer Key is available in class)

27- Notes: Turning Points of WW II   Students filled in the "fill in the blank" outline passed out in class. (The Answer Key is available in class)

28- Video Notes: The Holocaust (3/30/10 - 4/1/10)  Students filled in the outline passed out in class as they followed the powerpoint and video clips about the Holocaust. 

29- Holocaust Death Camps Map & Chart handout with questions. If you do not have the handout that was passed out in class, use the attachment below, and answer the questions for the map and chart on your own paper.

29- Notes: Genocide   Copy down the definition of genocide and the list of examples since the Holocaust. 

29- Video Questions: The Triumph of Evil-  Students answered the questions about the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. The blank questions along with an answer key is located in the attachment below. 

30- Notes: The Cold War  Use the powerpoint that is attached below and copy the notes on your own paper or get a blank outline in class.

31- The Cuban Missile Crisis Handout:  Answer the seven questions by using the information in the handout.  Go to  http://schools.nycenet.edu/region4/gchs/site/global_1/Global%201%20and%202/H1-Complete/Unit%2004%20-%20Latin%20America/13%20-%20Cold%20War/13%20-%20Cold%20War.pdf if you need an extra copy of the handout.

 Notes: Terrorism   Copy down the definition of terrorism, tactics and examples. 

 Notes: The Arab/Israeli Conflict  Write down the details in the attached powerpoint on your own paper. 

 Video: One Day in September  We answered the following question sheet as we watched the video about the terrorist attack at the 1972 Olypmics in Munich.
